Statement on Modern Slavery

1 - Organisational Measures

1.1 Policy Development

Establish and communicate a comprehensive Modern Slavery Policy to all employees, contractors, and stakeholders.

Include commitments to ethical practices, zero tolerance for modern slavery, and compliance with relevant laws.

1.2 - Training and Awareness

Provide regular training for employees and contractors on recognising and addressing modern slavery.

Ensure that all staff including part-time employees and contractors, understand the implications of the Modern Slavery Act.

1.3 - Reporting Mechanisms

Implement a confidential reporting system for employees, contractors, and suppliers to report concerns about modern slavery, and ensure reports are taken seriously and investigated promptly.

1.4 - Employment Practices

Conduct thorough background checks on new employees to prevent forced labour and ensure all employees and contractors have contracts that comply with labour laws and guarantee fair wages and working conditions.

2 - Supply Chain Measures

2.1 - Supplier Code of Conduct

Develop and implement a Supplier Code of Conduct that explicitly prohibits modern slavery and requires all suppliers to sign and comply with this code.

2.2 - Supplier Due Diligence

Conduct risk assessments of suppliers to identify areas vulnerable to modern slavery by performing regular audits and inspections of high-risk suppliers to ensure compliance with the Supplier Code of Conduct.

2.3 - Supplier Contracts

Include clauses in supplier contracts that require compliance with the Modern Slavery Act, and ensure contracts allow for termination if a supplier is found to be engaging in modern slavery practices.

2.4 Collaboration and Support

Work with suppliers to improve their practices and provide support for compliance with ethical standards by encouraging suppliers to adopt their own modern slavery policies and training programs.

3 - Monitoring and Reporting

3.1 - Internal Audits

Conduct regular internal audits to ensure Hyplon Security is in compliance with the Modern Slavery Policy by reviewing and updating this policy and procedures based on audit findings.

3.2 - Continuous Improvement

Set measurable goals for improving anti-slavery practices, report progress annually and stay informed about best practices and legal requirements related to modern slavery.

4 - Governance and Accountability

4.1 - Leadership Commitment

Ensure Hyplon Security senior management is committed to addressing modern slavery and takes responsibility for implementing policies.

Hyplon Security has appointed Marnie McLeod, Co-Founder | CEO | Cybersecurity Strategist as designated Modern Slavery Officer to oversee compliance and initiatives.

4.2 - Stakeholder Engagement

Engage with stakeholders, including employees, contractors, suppliers, customers, and industry groups, to promote awareness and action against modern slavery, by participating in industry forums and initiatives to share knowledge and best practices such as through the Australia Governance Institute.
